And we’re off! Racing out of the gate, the 2026 Legislative Session has introduced several significant bills to shape the direction of Washington State. We want to introduce you to a sample of the action, and then show you one way to register PRO or CON on bills.
On all the bills, your voice is needed!
Recent Bills
In one week, we already have more than 150 bills in our Bill Library, which is an exclusive feature of FPIW Action. For a summary of those bills, we also offer a Top Bill encapsulation (click here).
As a sample of three recent bills, here’s what you would see on your phone using the Washington Defender App:
• Citizenship & Immigration. The first bill is another “anti-ICE” bill that severely punishes employers who do not warn their employees of ICE’s presence.
• Life. The second bill tries to expand taxpayer-funded abortion pills by distributing them through the Department of Corrections.
• Education. On a positive note, the third bill seeks to expand early childhood education for military families.
On these bills, and many others, your voice is needed, and we want to show you how you can register PRO or CON right on your phone.

The Washington Defender App
Last week, we introduced our FPIW Action website, and this week we want to share with you how you can register PRO or CON on bills using the Washington Defender App on your phone. There is identical information on both the website and the app.
Each day new bills will be ready for you to register PRO or CON. Here are the general steps:
First, to download the app on your phone, click here, and then create an account.
Second, on your phone you will receive a daily notification. It looks like this:
Third, open the Washington Defender App, and you will see the bills under the “Activate” tab. For each bill, click on where it says “Click To Register” at the bottom.
Finally, that will send you to the official Washington State Legislature website for that specific bill, and you can fill out all of the customary information, such as your PRO or CON position, your name, your address, etc.

To save you time, we strongly suggest you create an account with the WA Legislature (click here), and then use the auto-fill feature. That will make registering PRO or CON a snap!
