“In essentials, unity; in non-essentials, liberty; in all things, charity.”
– Marco Antonio de Dominis
To Our Defenders!
As we begin Week 4 of the Legislative Session, we have another large batch of bills ready for you to register PRO or CON. To do so, please click here, and thank you for all your work to defend and advance biblical values in our state. Our voices together make an impact.
One recent highlight was the terrific outpouring from people around Washington who let their voice be heard in defending the initiative process. As a part of the coalition, that’s a good win:

As always, our Bill Library is available for you to search by your favorite topic as well as find any bill we profile. Our Bill Library is an exclusive feature of FPIW Action, and no other Christian organization has such a thorough resource with bill summaries, bill sponsors, and links for other information. We hope you find it helpful along this legislative journey.
After only three weeks, we have 390 bills in our Bill Library, and we have sent out 266 Action Alerts to register PRO or CON. Please check Actions Alerts daily for new bills! (Here is the direct link.)
We also highlight 17 Top Bills – major and significant bills that will impact families. These Top Bills are a way to see a summary or “quick glance” of what has happened so far during the Legislative Session. You can see all our Top Bills by clicking here.
Open vs. Closed
I also would like to discuss FPIW’s “Open-hand vs. Closed-fist” policy approach toward legislation. FPIW has always staunchly supported “The Four Core Tenants” of our faith: Life, Marriage, Parental Rights, and Religious Liberty. We will not compromise on these values. We will always stand against any proposed legislation that does not support the fact that:
• Life begins at conception;
• Marriage is the union of one man and one woman;
• Parents, not schools nor the government, are responsible for the upbringing of their children; and
• We are free to gather, worship, and express our faith without government interference.
These are our closed-fist policy priorities, or what we often call our “Core Four”.

In 2024, we began to expand the number of issues we cover. In 2025, we monitored 18 different issues. Now in 2026, we track 30 total legislative policies, including transportation, housing, energy, public safety, and education to name a few. These are our open-hand policy issues. For more, see our Policy Issues booklet here:
We will always try to support those positions that most reflect biblical principles; however, there are many bills within these issues where there is no specific biblical position, and so practical, well-reasoned positions for the common good are up for honest debate. We aim to abide by the great formula: “In essentials, unity; in non-essentials, liberty; in all things, charity.”
We Need Each Other

We understand that, at times, you will disagree with our policy position … and that is okay.
Let me be clear: FPIW welcomes all who defend biblical values in the public square. “When the world is on fire, we need each other,” said the great Christian thinker Francis A. Schaeffer. We understand that in a Left-leaning state such as Washington all conservatives must work together as a coalition, if we are to turn this ship around. And with your faithful engagement in this Legislative Session, we aim to do just that.
Defending the family,
Brad Payne, President
